St. Hyacinth Medallionfound among the artifacts of the Jamestown colony
This St. Hyacinth medal (medallion) was found during the archaeological dig in Jamestown.
The actual medal is in the center with larger replicas on each side.
This is clearly a Catholic item, in the midst of the mostly Protestant colony.
It was in the museum's showcase in 2012, along with the following text.
St. Hyacinth was born in 1185 in Kamien Slaski and died on August 15, 1257
in Krakow, Poland. He was canonized on April 17, 1594
